​January 8, 2019: ​Congratulations to Mike Zogby and team from Drinker Biddle for their victory in Cashen v. Johnson & Johnson, 2018 WL 6809093 (N.J. Super. Law Div. Dec. 24, 2018).  The NJ court found preemption in the breast implant case and dismissed all claims with prejudice. You can read about this case in Drug & Device Law.

Novermber 5, 2018: PLAC member, Jim Rotondo and his colleagues at Day Pitney recently published an article in Bloomberg Law Product Liability Section entitled “INSIGHT: Amazon Tests Boundaries Of What It Means to Be a Product Seller”  The article examines the examined the recent court rulings finding that Amazon has no responsibility in its role as a marketplace provider for product liability claims. The jury on Friday said that bicycle helmet maker Bell Sports is not liable for brain damage a woman suffered after falling from her bike while wearing a Bell-made helmet. October 5, 2018: Congratulations to Lisa Warren of Johnson & Johnson who is a recipient of the 2018 National Women in the Law Award presented by Corporate Counsel and Inside Counsel Magazines at the event in Washington, DC. The award is presented to attorneys who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and business acumen as they have guided their organizations through often treacherous roads to achieve success. October 5, 2018: Lori Cohen, one of PLAC’s sustaining members from Greenberg Traurig, was named "2018 Product Liability Attorney of the Year" by LMG Life Sciences and inducted into the guide's Life Sciences Hall of Fame.  LMG honors top-ranking firms and individuals for outstanding legal work in the life sciences sector and is considered the definitive guide to leading North American law firms and lawyers specialized in the life sciences industry.  Congratulations Lori!
